Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about buying and selling pre-sale tokens on Presello.
General
What is Presello?
Presello is a peer-to-peer resale marketplace for pre-sale tokens. Individual token holders sell their allocations at a fixed discount, and buyers purchase below the reference price. Think of it as a consignment shop for digital credits — not an exchange.
How does Presello work?
Sellers connect their wallet, choose a discount tier (minimum 5% off), and deposit tokens into an audited smart contract vault. Buyers browse projects, select a discount tier, and pay with USDT. The FIFO queue ensures the earliest listing fills first. After payment is confirmed, the vault releases tokens to the buyer.
Is Presello an exchange?
No. Presello is a peer-to-peer resale marketplace, not an exchange. There is no order book, no price discovery, and no market-making. All listings are at fixed discount tiers below the reference price. Presello is operated by Presello LLC as a neutral venue under Section 230 safe harbor.
What blockchain does Presello use?
Presello primarily operates on BNB Smart Chain (BSC). The vault smart contracts are deployed on BSC mainnet and have been submitted to SolidProof for independent audit. Support for additional chains is planned in future phases.
What is a reference price?
The reference price is the independently verified market value of a token, sourced from on-chain data, CEX pricing, or oracle feeds. All listings on Presello must be priced below the reference price. Presello does not set or influence the reference price — it is pulled from external sources and shown transparently on each project page.
Who operates Presello?
Presello is operated by Presello LLC. The platform is built as a neutral marketplace — it does not endorse, verify, or guarantee any listed project. All purchases are peer-to-peer and at the buyer's own risk.
Buying
How do I buy tokens on Presello?
Browse the marketplace, select a project, choose a discount tier, and pay with USDT. After payment is confirmed, the tokens are transferred from the audited vault to your platform balance. You can then withdraw them to your personal wallet at any time from your buyer dashboard.
What payment methods are accepted?
Presello accepts USDT (Tether) for all purchases. This is a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. Support for additional payment methods may be added in future phases.
What is a discount tier?
A discount tier is a fixed percentage below the reference price at which tokens are listed for sale. Tiers range from 5% to 95% in 5% increments. The minimum discount is 5% — every listing on Presello is priced below the reference price. You can never buy at or above the reference price on Presello.
How does the FIFO queue work for buyers?
FIFO stands for First-In, First-Out. When you purchase a specific discount tier, your payment is applied to the earliest listing in that tier first. Once that seller's tokens are fully purchased, the next seller in the queue fills. This ensures fair, predictable order execution with no priority or favoritism.
What happens after I pay?
After payment is confirmed, the tokens are transferred from the audited vault to your Presello balance. You can withdraw them to your personal wallet from your buyer dashboard at any time.
Are the tokens locked or vested after I buy?
Tokens listed on Presello are fully transferable at the time of sale. Any vesting schedules from the original project still apply — these are set by the project, not by Presello. Your tokens are yours to hold, use in the project ecosystem, or transfer as you see fit.
Is there a minimum purchase amount?
The minimum purchase is $5. KYC requirements scale with purchase size: under $250 requires just your email; $250–$999 requires your name and country; $1,000+ requires a one-time government ID verification. Once verified, no repeated checks are needed.
Are purchases reversible?
No. Once payment is confirmed and the vault releases tokens, the transaction is final and recorded immutably on the blockchain. All buyers must accept a disclaimer before purchase acknowledging that all sales are peer-to-peer and non-refundable. This finality protects both buyers and sellers from disputes.
Selling
How do I list my tokens?
Connect your wallet, select the token you want to sell, choose a discount tier (minimum 5%), and deposit your tokens into the audited vault. Your listing goes live immediately and enters the FIFO queue.
What is the minimum discount I can offer?
The minimum discount on Presello is 5% below the reference price. There is no 0% tier. Every listing must be priced below the reference price — this is enforced at the UI, API, and smart contract level. This is a deliberate legal architecture decision, not a platform preference.
How do I get paid when my tokens sell?
When a buyer purchases your listing, you receive USDT in your Presello seller balance. You can withdraw USDT to your wallet at any time from your seller dashboard. To convert USDT to local currency, you can use any crypto exchange that supports your country.
Can I cancel a listing?
Yes. You can cancel an active listing at any time from your seller dashboard. Cancelling returns your tokens to your balance. There is no penalty for cancelling.
How long does it take to sell?
Sell time depends on the discount tier you choose. Deeper discounts attract buyers faster. Our AI provides estimated wait times based on historical data for each tier. Shallower discounts may take longer to fill but preserve more token value.
What happens if my wallet is flagged during screening?
Presello runs automated OFAC wallet screening and checks all wallets against a blocklist. If your wallet is flagged, your listing will be rejected. Sanctioned wallets are permanently blocked from the platform.
Security
Where are my tokens stored during a sale?
Your tokens are held in an immutable, non-custodial smart contract vault on-chain. The vault uses ReentrancyGuard, 2-of-3 multisig governance, daily withdrawal caps, and large-withdrawal timelocks. Tokens are never held by Presello directly — they remain in the audited contract until released to the buyer upon confirmed payment.
Is the vault audited?
The vault contract has undergone a multi-pass security audit covering vulnerability scanning, invariant analysis, economic attack modeling, gas optimization, test coverage, and cross-chain risk analysis. Slither static analysis was also run. The contract was submitted to SolidProof for independent third-party verification. See the Security page for the latest audit status.
What happens if the platform goes offline?
Your tokens remain safe in the on-chain vault regardless of platform status. The vault is a standalone smart contract on the blockchain — it does not depend on Presello servers. In an extended outage, multisig key holders can execute an emergency withdrawal to return tokens to their original depositors.
How does the multisig work?
The vault is governed by a 2-of-3 multisig protocol. The three key holders are geographically distributed and operationally independent. Critical actions — such as unpausing the vault, changing the authorized backend address, or executing an emergency withdrawal — require approval from at least two of the three signers.
How does AI screening work?
Every project undergoes a 4-stage AI risk assessment before being listed: (1) GoPlus Security for honeypot detection and tax analysis (35% weight); (2) on-chain analysis of contract patterns and holder distribution (25%); (3) regulatory check including OFAC screening and rug-pull signatures (20%); (4) AI sentiment analysis of Telegram, Twitter, and community signals (20%). The combined score determines the risk rating.
What are the risk ratings and what do they mean?
Projects are assigned one of four risk ratings: Low Risk (AI screening passed, strong audit data, healthy holder distribution); Caution (minor concerns flagged, proceed with awareness); High Risk (significant concerns detected, restricted audit data or high volatility); Critical (delisted from the marketplace due to critical risk signals). Risk ratings are always visible on project pages.
What is OFAC screening?
OFAC is the US Office of Foreign Assets Control. Presello screens all buyer and seller wallets against the OFAC sanctions list before allowing transactions. Wallets associated with sanctioned individuals or entities are permanently blocked from the platform.
Fees
What are the fees during early access?
During early access: $0 listing fee and 0% platform commission — completely free for sellers. For buyers: 0% platform fee. This applies to all transactions during the early access period.
What fees apply after early access ends?
After early access: sellers pay a $1 listing fee per listing and a 5% commission when tokens sell. Buyers pay a small platform fee (the exact amount will always be shown before you confirm a purchase).
Are there withdrawal fees?
Withdrawals to your wallet may incur on-chain gas fees, which vary by network congestion. Presello does not add a withdrawal fee on top of gas. The exact withdrawal cost is shown before you confirm.
Is there a fee to register a project as an issuer?
Project registration is free during early access. After early access, a $100 setup fee applies. This covers AI screening, verified badge issuance, a dedicated project page, and analytics dashboard access.
KYC & Compliance
Do I need to complete KYC to use Presello?
KYC requirements are tiered by transaction size. Under $250: just your email. $250–$999: name and country (about 2 minutes). $1,000–$2,999: one-time government ID verification. $3,000+: enhanced due diligence (one-time). Once verified at a tier, you never need to repeat that check.
At what threshold is full ID verification required?
Full government ID verification is required for cumulative purchases of $1,000 or more. This is a regulatory requirement under Presello's FinCEN MSB registration and KYC/AML compliance framework.
What documents are required for KYC?
For the $1,000+ tier: a government-issued ID (passport, national ID card, or driver's license). For the $3,000+ enhanced tier: additional documentation may be requested depending on your profile. KYC verification is processed through Sumsub, a licensed identity verification provider.
Why does Presello require KYC?
Presello is registered as a FinCEN Money Services Business (MSB) and is required to maintain KYC/AML compliance. This protects the platform, sellers, and buyers from financial crime and ensures Presello can operate legally in supported jurisdictions.
Is my personal data safe?
KYC documents are processed by Sumsub, a licensed identity verification provider, and are not stored by Presello directly. You have the right to request deletion of your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law.
For Projects
How do I register my project on Presello?
Go to the Register Project page, fill in your project details (contract address, description, reference price source, category), declare team wallets, and accept the issuer agreement. AI screening runs automatically in under 60 seconds. Registration is free during early access.
What does AI screening check for projects?
The AI screening pipeline checks: contract safety via GoPlus (honeypot detection, tax analysis, ownership renounced); on-chain data via BSCScan/Etherscan (holder distribution, contract patterns); regulatory signals (rug-pull signatures, flagged wallets); and community sentiment via Telegram and Twitter. The result is a transparent risk score and rating.
Can I as an issuer sell my own tokens on Presello?
No. Issuers are permanently blocked from selling tokens for projects they have registered. This is a core legal architecture decision — it separates issuer effort from buyer returns, which is a key part of Presello's design to avoid securities classification under the Howey test. Team wallets declared during registration are blocked from seller listings for that project.
What are the embeddable widgets?
Presello provides three embeddable widget types — a button, banner, and badge — that issuers can place on their own website. Widgets display live discount tier availability and link buyers directly to the Presello listing. Widgets load via a public API with CORS open to all origins.
What analytics does Presello provide to issuers?
Issuers get access to an analytics dashboard showing: number of active sellers and total volume listed, traffic sources and widget performance, purchase volume and revenue generated for sellers, and referral tracking. The dashboard is available at the issuer dashboard after your project is verified.
What is the issuer agreement?
The issuer agreement is a legal document issuers sign during registration. It confirms that: the project is not a security, the issuer does not control or profit from resale prices, team wallets will not be used to sell on the platform, and the issuer accepts Presello's terms of service. The agreement is binding and stored with the project record.
